right, good news....the Amp arrived today, so will be connecting it all up tonight. Going to follow "rrichmonds" instructions...apart from the fact I am going to use the optical connection for my Xbox360!

    actually, I have another question!!

My sub has a wire lead (with bare cables for the connections) whereas the Amp has an input for an RCA plug...can anything be done about this? Again, do I have to buy anything special

The Amp uses an RCA plug as it requires your Sub to contain its own amplifier, So you really need an active Sub (One with an Amp built into it - that means it has a power cable and runs off your mains power supply) rather than a passive sub (One like yours...with no amp in it,and no power supply).

With an active sub, you would use the Audio out (Sub woofer) port.
(In my opinion...the Active Subs do a far better job than the passive ones anyway...)

ah bugger. I have come up with an ingenious solution..but if it doesn't work, it looks like I will have to purchase an active sub.

If your idea is to try and wire the bare able to an RCA plug it wont work. The signal coming from the RCA isn't strong enough to power a passive sub.

    Yes. This is correct.
