I'm establishing a new Moodle installation, authenticating users against AD using LDAP. No passwords are stored in the Moodle database and I'd like to keep it that way. I'm also establishing a Wordpress installation so supplement Moodle (don't ask, it's for good reasons).
I'd like to implement SSO between the two platforms: a user logs into Moodle then can browse through the Moodle and Wordpress pages without being prompted to authenticate the first time a Wordpress page is accessed. Logging out from Moodle ends the sessions in both platforms.
Any thoughts on how to achieve that? I've done a fair amount of research so far but can't find a method which meets those criteria. I particularly can't find an SSO method which works with LDAP against AD.
To do it properly, you would need some sort of SAML - Shibboleth is a great piece of software for doing this.
But with regards to LDAP, Moodle and wordpress should just work
