    Assuming that pressing fn+f5 doesn't work, Simply right click on the desktop, you get a 'Graphics Options' in the list, goto 'Output to' then 'dual display'

    That WILL sort your problem, nothing to do with wrong res or drivers.

    I was about to suggest the right click desktop and go to output and dual display the only other thing i can think of is we have one set of laptops which have to have a option set in the advanced display properties, can you tell us what grapics the laptop has.
