Access to files from home
We are in the process of changing over from Novell to Microsoft. With Novell we used Ifolder / Netstorage to gain access to our documents from home. I have poked around on here and found some are using Home Access+ but I do not see any documentation on how to install it and I'm also concerned about sensitive student info. In my hunt for a solution I found a college that is doing exactly what I want but I have no clue of how they are doing it. It is my hopes someone on here can point me in the right direction.
Here is the site link to what I wish to do. http://www.cnm.edu/depts/its/tutorials/software/files
Right now we are redirecting students My Documents folder to a network drive.

29th January 2013, 05:12 AM #4 I am doing something really simple here, just giving staff access to Terminal Services then they don't need to download docs etc, they can live edit.

29th January 2013, 08:45 AM #6 Terminal Services is a big winner in my books (alongside HAP, which is brilliant also) Terminal Services can be a right pain to get working correctly but once it does, works like a charm
(and HAP is even simplier to get going in my books!)

30th January 2013, 10:53 AM #8 We looked at HAP, it wasn't great.
Take a look at a Sonicwall SRA 4200 (American site but will let you see the video demo of it). Not free but really is brilliant and great value for money. The web based remote desktop function is fantastic.

okay. I feel like a idiot but no I did not see the big bold link to videos and documentation :/ but I'm installing this on a Windows server 2008 R2 64bit with IIS7. I have searched this forum for documentation on installing on IIS7 and found This. I have watched the video but I to am really looking for a pdf version of the instructions. The link in that thread are broken. Doe anyone have an updated link?
I am having an issue installing HAP but I want to read the documentation before I start asking questions.
Thanks

6th February 2013, 11:01 AM #14 We've been playing with the html5 remote desktop feature from Remote Spark (no plugins, not browser specific like the Sonicwall/MS ActiveX version). That combined with a php based home-access system seems to work well, still in testing.
