Need scanner in excel for product verification

    Hello,
I need a way to have a spreadsheet containing UPC and corresponding item#, so that when a person is checking a pulled order they can take an item out of the box , scan it and it pull up the correct item number. I know I can do this with the find feature, but too much for a non computer user to figure out. I know there is way to do it in excel, when I created the spread sheet and scanned an item it just added the barcode in the sheet. Any help would be appreciated.

Scanners these days tend to operate as USB keyboards - scan a barcode and they "type" the scanned code into the computer as if someone just typed on a keyboard. There, you don't need to write anything special to interface with the USB scanner, you can treat it exactly the same as if someone is going to type the barcode in - a macro with a single text input field for the barcode that searches for the code in your spreadsheet should do it.
