Yep, we do.
Kids get reset to 50 a week. Pages on colour printers cost 5 per page (unless its an A3 printer in which case it costs 10) and mono printer pages cost 2.
Staff are reset to 100 or 200 every week, depending on if they have a departmental printer.
Are they credits or a money value?

Credits, RM CC3 network.

unlimited colour printing here, people can print on A1 upon request
That’s very generous of you. You must have loads of money available for printing

obviously its within reason its got to be for education and they cant request like 5000 sheets
Here, the students get 100 credits (i.e. pages) per half term. That may seem tight - especially compared to FNGreaterManchester! - but we find it to be sufficient 99.9% of the time. GCSE, A-Level and Staff get more, but often don't need them all. Those students who do run out have a lot of personal and/or inefficient print jobs in their history.
We give years 7,8 & 9 £1.00 a week. Mono is 2p a sheet, Colour is 20p
Years 10 & 11 get £2.00 a week.
These are resets to this amount. not additions.

You make me feel harsh (nearly!)... staff have to pay in arrears for printing (it is deducted from their departmental budgets) and kids are given £2 of credit at the beginning of the year.
Prints cost the price of ink/toner... generally mono is 0.9p per page and colour ranges from 7.5p to 11.5p per page.
If the little darlings run out of credit they must purchase more.

Black and White is free at present, but that may change to a credit system to help reduce waste. All colour is though copiers which are pin coded so you get billed. The best feature is the job management built into the copiers so if no-one release the job no-one pays![]()
ICT Labs only have mono printers so all jobs on these are 5p
in areas where there is a colour printer it is 5p for Mono jobs and 10p for colours
Yr 7 & 8 get 70p
Yr 9 get £1.00
Yr 10 & 11 get £1.20
Yr 12 & 13 get £2.00
Colour costs 10p b & w costs 5p A3 colour costs 20p
Those allowances are per half term. It got introduced last Sept with no problems.
If they run out, kids have to buy more. These allowances were determined after consultation with staff on how much they would likely need to print out. Most things are emailed or copied into the public drive
Staff printing credits are taken from dept. budgets, so they have to careful
Only had one member of staff moan in the past year, but they got used to it.
We've installed workgroup printers in each department, and internally bill them for the toners. At least that way, its thier problem to stop the kids streaming off the works of Shakespeare.
