How do you do....it? Thread, Decode dvd's in Technical; I am making a base image and want to use WMP to decode DVD's the only free software i know ...

    Decode dvd's

    I am making a base image and want to use WMP to decode DVD's the only free software i know of to play DVD's is VLC is there free decoders or a fairly cheap site licence i can purchase

    VLC is only free in that you don't pay for the software itself, if you read the doucmentation they expect *you* to buy the relevant mpeg decoder license.

    Always read the small print!!! Are others using this without knowing about the licence.

    I have used this in the past:

    Just a simple DVD-Video player, completely freeware, no need for any external codecs. Basically like PowerDVD or WinDVD, but free.
