I would like some advise regarding starting up internet radio within our school. I've been tasked with setting up a internet radio station that will play inside of school in the canteen and some classrooms.

I've had a look at shoutCAST which seems the most popular but looking at trying to install it, looks like i need to purchase an mp3 license so it unlocks the ability to play mp3s?

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how i can set this up quickly and cheaply for a test to see how it all works, then we'll be looking to buy specialist equipment.

With regards to licenses, does the school need to buy any if they are to play popular music some of the time?
