I'm pleased the announce the release of the HAP+ Config Tool for v6
Download from Home Access Plus+ - Download: v6.0
The Home Page links still require manual editing of the web.config.
The exe on codeplex is a self extracting RAR file which auto runs the HAP+ Config Tool (asks where HAP+ is installed), if you don't want it to bug you about where HAP+ is, using WINRAR extract the contents (2 files) to ~/bin/
Note: Remember to untick the readonly option for the ~/web.config
Changes due in 6.1:
- New Home Page Layout (using some features from the HAP+ User Card)
- Drive Space Indicators in the Basic My Computer Browser
- Image Thumbnails in the Basic My Computer Browser
- More updates to the Config Tool
- Get File Type Icons from Registry (will use icons in the ~/images/ folder 1st (higher res))
- Anything else I think of
Thanks Nick. Amazingly quick update!
Im not quite sure what im doing wrong with regard to the User Card, but whenever I launch the program it waits about 6 seconds then quits with an "unexpected error"...Ive checked the config and all seems right (Ive even checked our internet logs to see if it goes to the HAP site but no :( )
Just had a thought, I am running it on Windows 7 x64? Would that make a difference?
Thanks Mart! - Brilliant work Nick!
Check that you can access https://%yoursite%/extranet/usercard/api.asmx without a username & password.

I also have a problem with the Enhanced version of HAP, it doesnt display any drives but the basic one works fine...:(
The following operations are supported. For a formal definition, please review the Service Description.
It'll be down to quota/drive space indicators if both the user card and Enhanced MC Browser aren't working.
Nope sorry, cant figure this one out, Ive cancelled out the quota bit in web.config...
Ive even just deleted my whole installation and started from scratch and it doesnt work (ive even installed the quota service and done that bit of the web.config) and no go :(
It used to work before v6....:(
Can you post the MyComputer section of your web.config
Cheers Nick, Do appreciate it! :)
(Ive removed the server name but everything else is the same)
Here is the error on the Enhanced version page of HAP

are you running over HTTP? That would be the problem. HAP+ advanced features need HTTPS' Transport Layer Security to work. Also the username/passwords are being sent in the clear over http, https encrypts them

Ah Ok! Thanks, When I saw yours going to https I wondered about that...I was trying to avoid paying for an SSL certificate lol ;)
Thanks again Nick, Ill give that a try! :)
Use a free SSL cert from StartSSL if you have a proper domain like myschool.org.uk, since you can be verified as the owner.
http://www.startssl.com/ is supported natively in Windows Vista, 7 and I think in XP now too.
Thanks Nick! Legend! :)
