HAP AD problems
Hi guys,
i have followed the v8.1 HAP guide, but i'm unable to get Setup.aspx to connect to the AD. I have tried many different ways of doing. I couldn't get it to do it in v7.8 either.
I have everything setup and im able to search drives, helpdesk etc. just need it to link to ad so the school can change the password and so hap recognise domain admins
any thoughts would be good.

Hey @Patrickking04
Looking at your config.. is that Domain UPN correct? That looks like a web domain rather than your Active Directory Domain..
For me that is FREMAN.LOCAL (where as our domain name is Freman College - and not needed here).
Of course, you may have configured your "Active Directory Domain" name to be the same as your Internet Domain Name (shudder).. in which case, this would be correct and i would be out of ideas! :)

Hi Matt,
Yeah the school i'm installing it on has their internal domain name set as that. This might be the thing causing the trouble.
The normal schools i install(without a problem)on have a simple domain name of f2t-cjn.local, gypa.local etc etc.

On the server, what does that ping to? An internal IP or external. If external you may need to add something to the hosts file to point it to the right server

it pings to the internal ip - AD controller(sjncca) to be exact. The hap install is on the exchange server(sjncch1)

Any ideas? as to why AD browser isnt working?

In some cases the AD browser fails to load. I haven't been able to figure out what is causing it
