Any thoughts on that?

Thanks again Nick!

3. Open the ~/app_data/hapConfig.xml

Find any references to #calendar, replace it with

Code:
~/images/icons/metro/applications/calendar.png
For the ME icon, the icon url is:

Code:
~/images/icons/metro/folders-os/UserNo-Frame.png
BookingSystem & Calendar are:

Code:
~/images/icons/metro/applications/calendar.png

4. Damn!! It works lovely!!

I Even have correctly reformatted icon sizes AND coloured tiles! Whatever you fixed, you fixed it good n proper! I'll spend a couple of days testing it, then i might try it live for bit!

I'm intrigued by the tile colour selection. How does it choose the colour? And how best to manipulate that choice? (i.e. i tried editing the colors.xml (typo in that filename btw (except for the Americans)) but it doesn't seem to get re-written.

It's looking really, really pretty Can't wait to get some users on it! Massive well done Nick. This whole Tile/Colour thing is really really nice!

5. It's the top 1 pixel of the source file, it then makes that colour transparent. Sorry about the loss of the u, CSS is without the u

6. nope, of course you are right.. hadn't connected the file-name to the programatic function of it. spelling it "ou" would in-fact be wrong!!

Having a fun time playing with the icons now - It doesnt seem to like any transparency in the files, so long as i remove that (easiest way is to save as 24bit rather than 32bit - thus removing the alpha channel) it works really well!

Thanks again, expect a couple more reports during this week.. though i suppose not too many of the sub-sections have changed too much and the main tiles etc are working really quite robustly..

Cheers anyway,

Matt

7. the transparency was really odd to get working correctly, as it didn't seem to like it at all. If you are using any of my other icons, the transparency should work, though they'll appear blue.

8. Yeah, to be clear, it works fine with transparency enabled - but as you say, the tiles appear blue.

What is wierd is that if my icon contains transparency, it seems to ignore the colour of the top left pixel when selecting a custom tile background colour. If i open the same icon and save it out as 24 bit (thus removing the alpha channel), that top left pixel is then successfully used to define the background colour.

Ultimately the icon handling works perfectly - with a little guidance for those wishing to customise their own icons / background colours.

9. Just updating with a screenie of my test site
I've been busy formatting icons and things are coming along very nicely indeed!

Things seem to be running very stably for me @nickbro
For once i thought i'd post without asking for help!

Matt

10. Hey @nickbro
Things are running very smoothly for us and im running this version on the main site at the moment.

The only issue i appear to have is related to the setup.aspx page - I dont know if you have even looked at it yet, so it may be working as expected.. but just incase it is a bug, here goes :

When i load the setup page, i don't see the expected tabs and instead everything lists on one flat page.. Much of it appears "gimped" with extra forms and pictures not in the right place etc.

No errors are generated in the debug log.

I tried the setup.aspx (and indeed the whole download from the codeplex site) but i just get errors which i presume relate to dll's.

Am i just jumping the gun there or should that be loading? (Hapconfig.xml reports my version as 8.0.519.2200)

Cheers,
Matt

11. The setup file was changed for the alpha trunk, you will need to get it from source control

Thanks, but already tried that and it errors (can't remember what the error was now, but i presume it requires newer dll's).

As it's not something that i need, i'll just wait till you either do your next full release or have another bunch of things you want testing

13. I am having trouble with getting custom icons to display properly. They did have white backgrounds and, since I've moved to V8, the tiles show the icon on a white background which is fine, except that the writing below the icon is also white (white on white). So I re-coloured the borders of the custom icons, but they still show as white on white. From the dialogue above, I'd expect the tile background to be the colour of the border

Example attached shows
(a) a sample tile for "clickview" highlighted in red box - note that it's showing white on white
(b) the actual png file for "clickview"

Thanks

14. Delete the files in the ~/App_Data/Cache/ folder so HAP can rebuild the cache

15. ## Thanks to nickbro from:

16. I have got V8 up and running with just basics at the moment however I thought I would try and add a few extras last night but completely failed. I tried adding the server uptime and when I log on the tile is there but I get a message in red about unable to log on on the left hand side of the that disappears. I have also tried the calendar live tile and that fails too.

Is there something else that need to be configured?

And one last question should you be able to go straight into outlook web access without logging on?
