Hi,

HAP+ doesn't do RDP, you can install the remote desktop services on the server, including the remote desktop gateway (allows RPD over HTTPS)
If its for your own remote management purposes I have setup our web server as an SSTP Server, so can connect in off-site from anywhere using the standard Port 443. You will need Server 2008 R2 to do this with a Windows 7 Client.
As the server already has external ports open for website access, this works perfectly without any additional county configuration.
Thanks Nick - I will be able accessing HAP remotely via a reverse proxy connection, i.e. https://HAP.schoolname.county.sch.uk, etc
If I install the remote desktop services and the gateway, how I am able to get to that from home? - what do I need to configure to be able to access it via https?
For RDP, you set the remote access gateway setting in the RDP client (Advanced > Connect From Anyway > Use these RD Gateway Server Settings: https://hap.schoolname.county.sch.uk), you can also use Server 2008 R2 to enable an SSTP VPN using much the same settings. (I have all 3, VPN for Domain Admins, RDP Gateway for all (we use remote apps, not full desktop), and HAP for all). Not many use remote apps, mainly the teachers for SIMS access

They are installed for use via SIMS, but the links aren't visible (apart from Domain Admins). We use libreoffice for everyone else

Are there more detailed instructions on how to set up remote desktop so it works through HAP?
Step by step idiots guide would be great!

errr....
There's a step by step for remote desktop gateway here, I think Nicks saying it's just installed on the same box as HAP: Download Deploying Remote Desktop Gateway Step-by-Step Guide from Official Microsoft Download Center
