Question Active Directory Chooser is blank

    Hi all,

We have a current install of Hap v6.5 which is running fine but I've been working on installing 7.9 to upgrade to the nicer interface.

Everything seems to be working correctly except for the Active Directory Chooser, which is blank.

AD Credentials are correct since the rest of the application works correctly, but I have to enter group names manually which is painful.

Any ideas why this may be happening? I get the same results regardless of browser.

    Active Directory Chooser is blank-blankadpicker.png

    Cheers

Do you get any messages popup when you enter the username & password and it starts to load the ad browser?

Also have a look at HAP+ JSON Debugging

    Also, make sure you add
    Code:
    local="en-GB"
to the hapconfig.xml file (some reason HAP isn't adding it)

    Thanks Nick,

The Base Settings heading has a red cross, but it does not give the little 'something wrong with your credentials' pop-up when the details are all filled in.

Authentication is working correctly for users when they log in and manually entered groups are being applied properly to drive mappings, so it's confusing to say the least.

    I've added local="en-GB" from a previous issue.

No, checks page is all ticks. No entries in server event logs except the issue that local="en-GB" fixed.

JSON output on the page when I re-enter the domain administrator password is simply

    GetADTreeResult
    null

how odd, that is saying it's having a problem processing your AD structure and is crashing out of trying to build a AD tree, I'll have a look in the code see if I can do anything to try and make this work.

    Thanks Nick,

    Much appreciated.

I've also tried the same with the server's firewall disabled, but since it is a member of the domain I wouldn't forsee it being an issue.

Edit: When the credentials are incorrect the error dialog is being displayed and the console reflects that correctly.

Sorry to hijack the thread but where abouts in hapconfig does this need entering? Same issue here so tempted to try this (HAP 7.10)

Damn didn't work, what changed between 6.x and 7.x for domain credentials? as version 6 got the AD structure fine but can't get 7.x to work at all.

Damn seems this problem is stopping me from doing a few things, people can login and use everything except the booking sheets and the helpdesk.

If i manually fill in the OU details for the "Active directory user list OU" section the helpdesk and booking sheets both fail to load, and as with the previous problem i mentioned i'm unable to view the directory list as i get the message: "There is something wrong connecting to your AD Infrastructure"

That's a good point, I don't use either of those features so I haven't tried that.
