What server are you installing HAP+ onto? DC? TS? If it isn't a TS, have you enabled interactive logon rights on that server so non domain admins can log on?

I hadn't enabled interactive logon rights.... Our test pupil acocunt can now login - cheers!
The server is 2008 running our website and Exchange. Whilst it's in a secure room, I'm not sure how comfortable I am with allowing pupils logon access to the server. Is there an alternative to giving logon local rights to the pupils? Or am I just being overly cautious....!

Overly cautious. HAP+ still has to abide by the NTFS permissions. Just make sure you only allow domain admins to remote desktop into the server.

Basic authentication (not basic not windows) should support running without having to enable that permission though.
