    ok, I've copied our existing configuration to another directory in its entirety,
    copied the 7.9 upgrade into the hap directory and checked it works (without the styles which are in the old one!)
    then i've replaced the files in the 7.9 config with the ones in your zip file,
    stopped and started the site from IIS and i still have the same fault

    In IE, can you go into Internet Options, Advanced Tab, and Restore Advanced Settings. Confirm "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" is checked

    ok, with the 'do not save encrypted pages to disk' checked the download works in my browser, but not in my colleagues identaically configured by GP browser. I'll try the update and see what happens

    Ok, i've reverted back to the previous version and something wierd is going on...

    When i login, go to my homedrive and click to download something it gives me a url that it fails to download. If i then click on something else the url it is attempting to download is the same as before, it looks like it is ignoring the rest of the contents of the folder and trying to download the same thing each time.

    Similarly, on my colleagues machine if i try and download things, most of them fail, but i have got 1 jpg to download, now anything else I click on downloads as that 1 jpg?

    confused .com!

    EDIT!

    This behaviour persists in extended version, but the download seems to work in basic version...

    Ok, so it's an issue with the extended version. The extended version is being discontinued

    Ok, is there any way to disable the extended version, or at least have everyone display basic by default?

    Delete mycomputersl.aspx

    Open ~/scripts/viewmode.js

    Change

    Code:
    var hasSilverlight = Boolean(window.Silverlight);
    to

    Code:
    var hasSivlverlight = false;

    Ok, perhaps i didn't do the above quite right, but i had to remove the following from the mycomputer.aspx file to make the link go away:

    Code:
    <a href="<%=ResolveClientUrl("~/MyComputerSL.aspx")%>" onclick="return changeversion('sl');" id="mypcsl" title="Try the Extended silverlight version of the My School Computer Browser">Extended Version</a>
    and

    Code:
    <div style="width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; position: fixed; z-index: 2001; top: 0; left: 0; right: 0; bottom: 0;">
    				<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;">
    					<tr valign="middle" align="center">
    						<td valign="middle" align="center">
    							<div class="modalPopup" style="width: 300px; text-align: left;">
    								<h1>My Computer Version:</h1>
    								Please select a version to use:
    								<div id="HomeButtons">
    									<a href="<%=ResolveClientUrl("~/MyComputerSL.aspx")%>" onclick="return changeversion('sl');">Extended Version<i>Contains drag and drop features</i></a>
    									<a href="<%=ResolveClientUrl("~/mycomputer.aspx")%>" onclick="return changeversion('html');">Basic Version<i>Basic HTML icons</i></a>
    								</div>
    							</div>
    						</td>
    					</tr>
    				</table>
    			</div>
    to prevent the link from displaying.

    You'll be getting a javascript error unless you also do the code change above to stop the browser looking for that thing you've just deleted

    Ok, I did the original edit of removing line 74-84 in the viewmode.js and i haven't seen a JS error... Do Ineed to restore lines 74-84 and then change the var has silverlight to false, or can i run with lines 74-84 missing?
