    Yay! Welcome back Edugeek!

    My final update!!

On the new server, if i disable my email server in the setup.aspx, the rest of the system appears to function as intended. Items are created (the view is updated live) and deleted happily.

Is their much room for mistakes in the SMTP config, bearing in mind that fundamentally, emails were being sent?

    Cheers,
    matt

Hopefully should have a fix, or something inplace for this in v7.7.

Does your email server's admin user account have rights to "send on behalf of"?

What is your current email config (before you disabled it?). I know exchange supports not authenticating the user to send the emails, if you authenticate it will refuse the connection for some reason, though that might just be my setup (single ex2010 install with SMTP hub relay to county)

Well, my exchange is 2010 single install with SMTP hub relay to county too

My current setup (which was what i used prior to v7) is:

    Address: serverxx.domain.local
    Port: 25
    SSL: No
    SMTP User: none
    SMTP Pass: none
    From (Name): School Tech Support
    From (Email): support@school.lea.sch.uk

with that configuration, it does successfully send calendar invites to me - but seems to fail to move on to the next step gracefully.
I have tried putting a User/Pass in, but that seems not to work at all.. which i presume is what you were describing above.

Do you mean the user specified in the configuration? As i have been using no account, i presume not.. (although i do recieve a calendar request from my own account)..

Does the user you are booking for have an email address defined in the Mail field of their AD Properties?

    /hap/bookingsystem/ errors with:
Method not found: 'HAP.AD.UserInfo[] HAP.AD.ADUtils.FindUsers(HAP.Web.Configuration.OUV isibility)'.

    /hap/setup.aspx errors with:
Compiler Error Message: CS1061: 'ASP.setup_aspx' does not contain a definition for 'sg_TextChanged' and no extension method 'sg_TextChanged' accepting a first argument of type 'ASP.setup_aspx' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

    IT'S AALLLLIIIVVEEEE!!!

I'll do loads more testing tomorrow, but i just put those updates on and it is booking, refreshing, deleting bookings, refreshing, email invites AND cancellations.. All as expected!

Thanks so much for your persistence on this Nick. I will try these updates on my original server too (Despite the JSON stuff not responding as expected, im interested in seeing if that was all related to this!)

As i said, i'll put it more thoroughly through its paces tomorrow (i had similar problems with helpdesk etc which should all be related).

    Cheers again,
    matt

My quick test shows helpdesk stuff is working properly for me again too.

Tried it all on my production server (exact copy of the folders) and whilst the page now refreshes, i still get the "Unauthorised" message popping up when trying to delete stuff.

Either way, i care not.. I have no idea what's up with that server, so as soon as i get my SSL cert sorted out for the new one, i'll swap it out.

Thanks again for all your persistence!

    Wooo

Good to hear it's working now. You are using the latest v7.7 alpha release there, with some DEBUG stuff added in. If you have a look in the HAP+ Event Log on the server it may give some insight into why it wasn't working properly before.

Will get a few more bugs fixed and then I'll publish it, hopefully this weekend.
