The booking system has had a bit of a looking at. It's now soo much quicker, thanks to CACHING on the data used to render it. Specifically the AD info for the bookie's userinfo and the static bookings are all cached. The latter expires when the file is chanced (staticbookings.xml), the former is expired after 1 hour. But still it's quite a bit more nippy now.

Heya Guys,

I have been looking at implementing Home Access Plus+ and so far...BRILLIANT!.....Sadly we dont use SIMS, so I was wondering if someone could post an example of Report.xml that is used in the student photo bit? Just curious if I can alter it to our setup!

Cheers Mart

ah ha problemo solved! THANKS!

Ive tested it out on a few workstations this evening and they seem to hang at registering your logon for a very long time before continuing, i will test it more thoroughly tomorrow when im in work but wondered if you have any idea why they are taking quite long to register.

Another problem ive notices is i have set the users to 1 logon only but on second logon this box appears but still lets me press done and it will still logon? if i logon a third time it will stop me pressing done!

That's prob a DOH moment on my half. I'll look into it. If HAP Logon Tracker can't connect to the webserver, it should let the user logon. I'll write the error out to a log file somewhere.

Ok, I've just reuploaded the HAP Logon Tracker.exe to the Home Access Plus+. I had a <= instead of a <.

Can anyone confirm if the remote logoff works? I haven't properly tested it yet. I copied the remote logoff code from the edugeek logon tracker script, since it was the easiest.

It should be fairly quick at registering the logon, it takes a bit more time when their is multiple logons. The only thing that would slow it down would be the webserver's response time. You need to make sure the webserver doesn't auto recycle the extranet app pool in IIS. It can be slow reloading that.

Thanks its working ok now.. could you add a buttom next to done saying cancel so it logs off the current machine they are attempting to logon to as some may not want to log off the other computers if they have work open and i dont want them leaving the machine they are attempting to logon to unattended while they go and save there work.

Remote logoff is working fine here. Another request would be the ability to delete a live logon on the web interface?

Did the booking system enhancements not make it into V5?

What enhancements are you referring to? The caching is def in there, but it's only small parts that are cached. I'll expand the caching to include more stuff.

Up and coming v5.1 changes:
- Fixed the Student Shared Area listings for students in the silverlight browser
- Added a cancel button to the Logon Tracker Windows GUI, which logs the current user off
- Added a logoff button to the Live Logon Tracker
- Added some more caching routines to the booking system
