    Hi Gybe78,

    On the terminal server setup for remote apps add the apps in so that you can access them from the regular web based remote app window, then select "create .rdp file" for the app you select in the list on the admin panel of remote app and set it up to use the settings required to remotely access your school terminal server (or the RD Gateway / host configuration settings whatever it may need setting up) and then copy that .rdp file into the home access plus web directory and create a link to it.

    Hi all, HAP+ v6 is dated for release this weekend. Successful testing has been completed by myself at CHS.

    P.S. if anyone would be willing to add their school to the list of recommended by on the HAP codeplex site, let me know

    Hi Nick, thanks for the new release, I'll look at installing it ASAP as we were going to roll it out to staff this half term, but might as well give them the newest to start on

    @nickbro

    Is it possible to upgrade from the latest v5 to v6 or do you recommend a new install?

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Nick, just trying to install it on a clean VM of 2008 R2 SP1 and getting a few errors, whats the best way of getting them to you? Do you want them on here or emailing to you ?

    Thanks

    You can copy the app_data and chs.master files over, but apart from that a fresh install is recommended. There's been some big changes

    No Probs, I've managed to get it going by doing the coding manually in the config file as the wizard kicks out at the last step with a big nasty error so need to get that posted up for you.

    The other issue was in the IIS config part, when I went to check in the MIME Types that .zap was in, it gave an error about not liking line 255 and then 256 in the config file which entries were:

    <mimeMap fileExtension=".svg" mimeType="http://www.edugeek.net/images/svg+xml" />
    <mimeMap fileExtension=".svgz" mimeType="http://www.edugeek.net/images/svg+xml" />

    It says:

    Cannot add duplicate collection entry of type "mimeMap" with unique key attribute "fileExtension" set to ".svg"

    If you take those two rows out of hte config it opens fine

    The other error comes at the end of the config wizard. I filled in everything we use, added all the paths etc. We don't use the room bookings in it so left them as they come on your config etc and then when you hit finish you get a nice error whos text is:

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.
    I went into the config and manually filled it in by using find and looking at my V5 code and guessing the gaps etc, but even when I've done it once its not feeding back in right so its got a little bug I think somewhere.

    Other than that, now ive manually edited the config file its working fine from what I can see.

    Sorry to be a pain, bit more testing, the extended version doesn't seem to be working for me, basic is fine but when you move to extended on my PC it doesn't show the drives just shows My School Computer and nothing else in the panes.

    As I say basic seems to work fine, and in HAP6 it seems much quicker than it did in HAP5, don't know if that's my server or some code change on your part perhaps.

    Switched to IT and got the error for you:

    Try downloading the HAP+ Web file again, and extracting the BIN folder. Found an out-of-date dll in there. Then browse to /api.asmx in your browser and confirm it comes up with available procedures

    Sorry another niggle, the header Resources sits partially over the Change My Password button, how can I moev the button up or the text Resources down so its not sitting on it. That is on IE8 on Win 7

    2nd issue solved - forgot I had shutdown a server to move and re-size the VM image and not restarted it yet!
