    Tracking website use should be done via IIS logs
    But does it track actual computer logins indepentant to whether they actually use/login to HAP or not? If the former, it'd be very useful and be a great addition (although nothing to do with HAP mind), though if it only tracks HAP activity internally, then I can't see a use for this.. :/ A student could login to someone else's account through HAP as easily as they could on an actual computer. Maybe I am overlooking something, though what are the benefits of knowing who is using HAP internally and during school hours?
    I'm not being critical, I just can't think of a reason..

    The extent of our usage of HAP internally since we installed it is to show the kids how to use it from home, as opposed to encouraging usage within school.

    On a side note, should HAP work with Windows/Firefox and Apple/Safari? Some kids have had problems with these combinations.

    We have a policy that students should only be logged in to one place at a time, therefore, logging where and when they logged on is necessary (we wrote our own app to do this, but HAP+'s Logon tracker does just as good a job - if not better )

    I do agree though, that logins externally could be tracked also - as simple as who accessed what at what time, the interface is pretty much already there with the logon tracker, I can't imagine it would be too much to include an external logon to this it would be good to see this functionality included.

    Logons yes, but not logoffs. Thus why i recommend using IIS's logs to get that information. e.g. IIS Log Analyzer : Community : The Official Microsoft IIS Site

    Hi,

    Firstly - many thanks for this software, it has the potential to relieve a lot of tension at our school!!

    I have it running internally for now, and when its ready we'll get the lea to open it up externally. Its running on a member server, 2003 r2, iis 6.

    Logging on with domain admin and i get

    "Error: Unauthorised Access
    You have attempted to access a restricted resource"

    even on the shared drives that are read/write for everyone?

    help?

    In the UNC Paths section of your web.config file do you have it configured similar to below?

    Code:
    <add drive="N" name="My Documents" unc="%homepath%" enablereadto="All" enablewriteto="All" enablemove="True" />
    It may be worth checking that to see if this sorts you out.

    I thought that section was for enabling the drives to appear or not?

    but this is ours at the moment?

    Code:
     <uncpaths>
            <add drive="N" name="My Documents" unc="\\curricsvr2\users\{0}" enablereadto="All" enablewriteto="All" enablemove="True" />
            <add drive="H" name="Admin Documents" unc="\\curricsvr2\e$\technician\" enablereadto="Domain Admins" enablewriteto="Domain Admins" enablemove="True" />
            <add drive="T" name="Staffcommon" unc="\\curricsvr2\staffcommon" enablereadto="Domain Admins, Staff, MIS" enablewriteto="Domain Admins, Staff, MIS," />
            <add drive="W" name="Common" unc="\\curricsvr2\common" enablereadto="All" enablewriteto="All" />
    im logged on with domain admin, so i have full NTFS permissions on those directories and i am in added in the UNCPATHS sections..

    If the problem you are having is with the 'N' Drive then I'm not sure the {0} will work with the unc paths - if your users have a Homedrive mapping in AD then you can put in %homedrive%

    This may be your problem. Does it work for the other drive letters you have listed? Try removing them one at a time and see which one breaks it...

    @ITDC : I already have those settings, thanks though.

    @sister_annex : It gives the restricted message for all the drives in basic mode, if i goto silverlight version it just gives a "An Error Occurred" box.
    I'll try commenting them out and see what happens..

    this error is related to the permissions. Right click the drive go to permissions and add a permission for the actual computer name of the server you are using to host home access plus.

    So we use "server1" to host. Add "server1" to the permissions list give it full control and it should then allow you in.
