Ok finally found the reason why none of my drives are working
this may be a possible bug..
Unless my useraccount has a HOME DRIVE path in AD none of my mapped drives will work
as soon as i enterd a homedrive into my user account it worked perfect and all UNC paths not related to the home drive works ! wahoo ..
Thanks Nick![]()
Hi Nick,
We've just updated to the latest verison after about 6 without updating - looks so far to be an excellent upgrade.
The only problem we've got is that when you switch to the Enhanced view, you get an error
"Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application
Code: 2108
Category: InitializeError
Mesage: 2108 An error has occurred"
Then in javascript errors on the page we're getting:
Webpage error details

However, as far as I can tell all seems to work. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks
John
Nope, that's a strange one.
Playing with current version via IE8:
- With the non-enhanced file browser, when I hit Upload I get an alert box displaying "https:\\server\Extranet\Upload\"
- Should the List view mode display them in a vertical list, one folder/file per line? If so it's not doing that (they're all one one line and disappear off to the right)
Just spotted a slight issue.
In the web.config file I've set it up so that only staff and musictutors see a particular drive.
<add drive="P" name="Staff Resources" unc="\\csm-storage\Staff Resources" enablereadto="Staff, musictutors" enablewriteto="Staff" enablemove="True" />
When a student logs on, if they are using Basic mode then they don't see this drive, but if they switch to the Enhanced view then they can see this drive.
They can't access the folders or open the items that are on this drive as they don't have the permissions to do so, but I would rather they didn't see it at all.
Can we set the silverlight version not to show particular drives like the basic version?
couldnt get myself to replicate that problem TheFopp
Id make sure the students are 100% not in the Staff or Musictutors group
That's odd, that should be working. It works fine for me as my setup only shows 2 drives to the kids. I can see 8. Both Basic and Enhanced.
It must be a cookie thing.
I was previously checking the student access to HAP whilst still being logged on to my PC as me. When I actually logged on to the PC as a student then went to HAP and entered a student username and password it worked fine.
OK, I've sorted install for pupils on 1 domain and pretty much everything sorted for staff on the other domain ... but am getting the following error when trying to access the bookings module as a domain admin so that I can set it up ... Anyone have any good ideas?
Last thing to get working before remote testing gets under way :-)

Not 100% sure but it looks like the object (most likely a particular user) cannot be found on the domain you have specified. I would check that you have put the correct DOMAIN\username and password and that your LDAP Settings are correct.[DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072030): There is no such object on the server.]
HTH
Would it be the particular user that I am logging in with (ie: the domain admin)? Cos that doesn't make too much sense ... from reading throught he rest of this thread I've got the domain & username & password & LDAP settings correct ...
Also staff users in the staff ou listed in the exception
[Exception: LDAP://DC3.beausandver.local/OU=Staff,OU=Beaumont,DC=beausandver,DC=local]
can access the booking module ... its just the domain admin (in a different location that cannot.
this maybe a missconfig by me
But when using HTTPS with IE i cant download files ? just gives me a timeout type message .. Firefox works fine .
Http works fine on both Browsers .. for the time being im using HTTP and set AD logins with a Max amount of login attempts set to 5
I'm pretty sure that if you specify an OU in LDAP Path that, that's where the query starts when looking for users, if your domain admin was in the 'staff' OU or below you would find it would work (maybe worth a test)
Ours here does not specify an OU (although we only use the home access part not the booking etc) our LDAP Path looks like:
obviously with it setup like this anyone would be able to get at your bookings but you may be able to lock it down using NTFSCode:LDAP://mgmtcore.st-thomasmore.walsall.gov.uk/dc=st-thomasmore,dc=walsall,dc=gov,dc=uk

Just an FYI to everyone. I've released an update to HAP this weekend. If you don't set Home Drives in AD, HAPs My School Computer browser should now work.
Other Updates include a speed boost to the silverlight my computer browser when it loads each file, and auto pruning of the Booking System XML database
