HAP+ V9 Unkown Error After Fixing Save Button

    Hello All,

I followed various forum threads til I got stuck at this point.
I had just fixed the issue where the save button wasn't displayed, rebooted the server and had an error which I Googled and found that I needed to do a registry change so that the IIS AppPool user had permissions to the event log. Rebooted the server again and got the following error which I tried to google but couldn't find anything useful.

Wondering if anyone can help please. Ripping my hair out trying to get this to work.

    Many thanks,

    JonServer Error in '/HAP' Application.

0x80005000 is a generic AD fault on the server which a reboot fixes, it isn't HAP+ specific.

You can also try changing the LDAP path so LDAP is in caps

I have rebooted the server several times.

I cannot say I am an expert in this as this is the first time I am deploying.

Where would I change the LDAP Path?

That's my hapconfig file can you let me know what to edit exactly?

    Thanks

As above, you can do it manually if you feel you can. If not Click Add under Active Directory User List OU's and browse to each of your OU's.

I couldn't find where in the setup.aspx or hapconfig.xml file that the LDAP details are meant to be entered.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I keep getting an error "The LDAP Server is unavailable"

I cant find any other forum posts mentioning this so I must be the only newbie to editing these sorts of files.

They are entered at the very start of the HAP_config

    Code:

The setup sets this up for you though!

Thanks Fairm010, I filled it out to what Nickbro said to set firstrun=True and re-enter AD credentials. it worked but after a reboot it stopped working.

I did the same thing again and it worked so I assume I need to complete the setup on setup.aspx before next reboot?

Also will it cause an issue if the server that HAP sits on doesn't have active directory installed on? Is there some way to point LDAP to query a different server on the same network?

You need to ensure that your app_data folder is not set to read only.

My web server (the server HAP runs on) is not a domain controller so no, it does not cause an issue.

Yes I can confirm that the App_data is not set to read only.

But I am getting the error message:
"There is something wrong connecting to your AD infrastructure,

please review AD settings and try again.
The most common cause of this is using a user not in Domain admins or Administrators Group"

The user is in Domain Admins and local administrators group

    **UPDATE**
I've now tried with a further two accounts which meet the criterion and still no luck

    **UPDATE**

    I now have it working.

There was a network issue to start with as my colleague originally started this project.

I had a further problem or two afterwards but resolved them using other threads within the forum.

    Thanks for the help guys.
