    HAP+ 10 Preview 2 install issue - Service Activated Error

    Hi there,

    I am installing HAP+ Version 10 along side my current version 9 install for testing purposes. However, I seem to be receiving the errors seen in the below screen shots when accessing: /api/setup (/api/test returns OK)

    HAP+ 10 Preview 2 install issue - Service Activated Error-hap-error1.pngHAP+ 10 Preview 2 install issue - Service Activated Error-hap-error2.png

    If I add the HTTP binding it fixes the services activated for version 10 but then my version 9 starts to play up because I've added the HTTP binding, it starts to flash as mentioned in a previous post.

    I have had two different versions of HAP+ 9 running together before but both of these required the HTTP binding not to be there but version 10 seems to want it. Is there any way to have them running alongside each other for testing of version 10?

    Just wondering if anyone might have a suggestion for the above issue? I am trying to test HAP+ version 10 before moving over to a live site. Any help is appreciated.

    No massive insight on this.. other than, i run side-by-side installs here and i have them installed to https://portal.school.com/hap and https://portal.school.com/beta. It may be that the api subfolder is causing the issue? Your setup should really be domainname/folder/setup.aspx i think..

    Paul-K: OK, I'm seeing exactly the same on my development box on the latest development code, I'll try and either work out / remind myself what changed and see what insight Nick has.

    I have HTTPS which works fine for version 9.5.831.2140, If I add HTTP it breaks my live 9.5 version but then my test version 10 works correctly. Is there a way to resolve this so that I can have both running together to test version 10

    Copy the web.config file from the v10 release to the v9.5 release

    Hi Nick, I had HAP+ 10 preview 2 working fine with the above advice, I have now updated to the preview 3 for testing and receive the error show below. Any ideas? or has something been added to the preview 3 that could be causing the error?

    Yes, we've gone back to locking the web.config file down to https only. To override this choose either:

    1. Remove the HTTP Binding
    2. Remove this from the web.config file:
    HTML Code:
    <security mode="Transport" />

    Hi Nick, I have done the above and I get the "Could not find a base address that matches scheme http for the endpoint with binding WebHttpBinding. Registered base address schemes are [https]."

    Seems like it still wants the HTTP Binding, If I add the HTTP Binding back but remove the line
    HTML Code:
    <security mode="Transport" />
    it works again, is this the correct behaviour or is there something wrong with the web.config if it is still requiring the HTTP binding?

    Thanks for the info, missed a bit in the web.config in restoring it:
    HTML Code:
     <system.serviceModel>
        <extensions>
          <behaviorExtensions>
            <add name="jsonWebHttp" type="HAP.Web.Logging.JsonErrorWebHttpBehaviorElement, HAP.Web.Logging" />
          </behaviorExtensions>
        </extensions>
        <behaviors>
          <endpointBehaviors>
            <behavior name="">
              <jsonWebHttp />
            </behavior>
          </endpointBehaviors>
          <serviceBehaviors>
            <behavior name="">
              <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true" />
              <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="false" httpsGetEnabled="true" />
            </behavior>
          </serviceBehaviors>
        </behaviors>
        <bindings>
          <webHttpBinding>
            <binding>
              <security mode="Transport" />
            </binding>
          </webHttpBinding>
        </bindings>
        <serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true" multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" />
        <standardEndpoints>
          <webHttpEndpoint>
            <standardEndpoint name="" helpEnabled="true" automaticFormatSelectionEnabled="false" faultExceptionEnabled="true" defaultOutgoingResponseFormat="Json">
              <security mode="Transport" />
            </standardEndpoint>
          </webHttpEndpoint>
        </standardEndpoints>
      </system.serviceModel>
