New feature request - Maintenance Page
Could I make a suggestion for a new feature please, would it be possible to build a maintenance page for Home Access Plus please, this would enable administrators to put the site into maintenance to enable work to be carried out or disable users to access the site while network maintenance is being carried out.
If this feature could display a page that is configurable so we can put a message on for users so they know the site is under maintenance and then allow us to take the site out of maintenance mood when work complete.
Let me know if this can be done.

+1 for this. At the moment I redirect requests to my own landing page for this.

Like WordPress does when doing updates?
It would be great to see this packaged into a general server status page module and tiles.

Hmm, don't know on this one, updating is a manual thing and takes a few seconds to do. Stopping users accessing while you do some work can be done by disabling them via the web.config file. But I could look into something to maybe say on the login page that the site is under maintenance at the moment

Thanks for your reply and sorry for not getting back sooner.
It would be useful so that when we are doing maintenance on the system and systems not related to HAP and need to lock / deny users access, we could turn on the maintenance page so that users would know that systems are being worked upon.

Added for the v10 release: 87333
There are two ways of doing this in v10:
- Set maintenance="true" in the hapConfig.xml file, this will show the contents of app_offline.htm.off for everyone except Domain Admins or the login page
- Rename app_offline.htm.off to app_offline.htm, this is actually an asp.net feature, create an app_offline.htm file and asp.net will not run and just show the app_offline.htm page see: App_Offline.htm - ScottGu's Blog
I'm going to set this thread as closed now
