    HAP 8.7 on Server 2012 IIS8 - 500.19 Internal Server Error

    Hello,

    Use to have an old version of HAP running which was great - trying to set this up on Server 2012 which runs IIS8.

    Followed 2 different videos, hoping I'm pretty much there and just have some teething issues and wondered if anyone could help.

    We are getting the error as shown in the screenshot.

    I have deleted the following from the web.config file :

    <mimeMap fileExtension=".mp4" mimeType="video/mp4" />
    <mimeMap fileExtension=".m4v" mimeType="video/m4v" />
    <mimeMap fileExtension=".ogg" mimeType="video/ogg" />
    <mimeMap fileExtension=".ogv" mimeType="video/ogg" />
    <mimeMap fileExtension=".webm" mimeType="video/webm" />
    <mimeMap fileExtension=".oga" mimeType="audio/ogg" />
    <mimeMap fileExtension=".spx" mimeType="audio/ogg" />

    <mimeMap fileExtension=".svg" mimeType="images/svg+xml" />

    I have tried removing the next couple of lines that come up as errors but this didn't help so I restored the web.config file and currently have it with just these lines above removed.

    One thing I wasn't sure about was on both the videos, it never showed the folder being created under the default website within IIS (unless I have missed a step) It showed creating the application pool first.

    Should it automatically be there after creating the HAP folder with IIS www root or do you create a new website?

    Attached is also a screenshot of my IIS set-up - I'm not 100% sure this is correct as originally I added a new vd which I then deleted and converted what yellow folder remained to an application.HAP 8.7 on Server 2012 IIS8 - 500.19 Internal Server Error-hap2.pngHAP 8.7 on Server 2012 IIS8 - 500.19 Internal Server Error-hap1.png

    Thanks very much in advance for help offered.

    There's a few lines in the web.config file to remove, using IE will tell you which lines to remove. You also need to go to /style/basestyle.css and repeat.

    Thanks

    Found this line. So I removed it as suggested and we are now getting a <handlers> error

    also cant see what we need to remove in basestyle.css

    <staticContent>
    <!--For IIS8 Remove this Section -->

    <!--You may need to remove this line under some setups-->

    <remove fileExtension=".eot" />
    <mimeMap fileExtension=".eot" mimeType="application/vnd.ms-fontobject" />

    </staticContent>

    If you click the more info link at the bottom it should take to Microsoft's website to show you what to change to fix it, these errors aren't HAP+ specific but .net and iis related

    When I left yesterday it was working and we were ready to finish setting up the server.

    I come in this morning and when I try to log in I get Server Error in '/Hap' Application. (see screenshot)

    A search of this forums:

    You may need to:

    To give IIS AppPool\HAP User read permission on the EventLog/Security key follow instructions from 'System.Security.SecurityException: Requested registry access is not allowed.' when writing to event log
    Code:
    Select Start - Run, then enter: regedt32
    Navigate/expand to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Security
    Right click on this entry and select Permissions
    Add the IIS AppPool\HAP User
    Give it Read permission

    right we appear to be up and running and we have logged in with a few student dummy accounts

    however we are experiencing a few glitches

    In setup we dont have anything entered under active directory\student group. When we click on it it brings up the active directory browser but we cant select anything. When we close the field remains empty.

    In my files making changes to an already mapped drive brings up A WCF error occurred

    We can get round this by manually editing hapconfig.xml but we probably shouldn’t have to.

    also is there any documentation for configuring the Hap setup?

    Use the keyboard to get into the text box and type it in manually.

    I'll look into the wcf error, it's an odd one.

    Should I have anything in the student group because at the moment its blank and it appears to be working? I can access the files for the user im logged on as and I get different mapped drives for different users.

    What does Hap use that group for?
