Hey Guys,
I am looking to install HAP tomorrow and was wondering after the installation is done, how do you go about getting it on to the internet so that it is accessible by all?
Installation is going to be on a 2008 R2 server and I've never done anything like it before.
And if the 2008 R2 server is going to be on the internet how do you about making it secure as possible?

4th December 2012, 11:33 PM #2 HAP+ requires HTTPS to work. This encrypts the web traffic between the client and server. This is the secure part. The setup requires setting permissions on the folder structure on the server to prevent any miss configuration by anyone, and passwords are hashed and encrypted in both the configuration files as well as any session variables

5th December 2012, 10:00 AM #3 Hi Nick,
Can you tell me in your documentation under Installation Instructions IIS 7; point 30, you have stated:
30. Add the permission:
a. IIS AppPool\HAP (Findable from the Local Machine). Set them to Read & Execute permissions
b. App_Data Folder: Set to Read & Write
There is no account called IIS AppPool. Can you tell me where I can find this?
What's more, having skipped that bit would this cause the problem attached? If not, how do I resolve it? I did remove line 118 but to no avail.

Hi Chuckster,
have you looked at this post Can't Find IIS AppPool\HAP, the Answer
I'm pretty sure that will fix your problem.

5th December 2012, 03:50 PM #7 In the setup page of the Booking System tab, I try to add/edit a lesson but all I keep getting is: Code:
An WCF Error has Occurred
And skipping on from that, when I try to log in through the homepage with administrator credentials, it says
Either your Username or Password was incorrect
How do I resolve both issues?

5th December 2012, 03:51 PM #8 You may need to delete your hapconfig.xml file and re run the setup page. Some part of your AD setup is wrong

5th December 2012, 03:59 PM #9 Deleted the hapconfig.xml file and started afresh. Just got to the Book System page and upon the first entry of inputting the first lesson, and then hitting save, I got the error again: Code:
An WCF Error has Occurred
-
-
5th December 2012, 04:12 PM #10 It's being temperamental and now I'm getting an Code:
internal server error
message
Sometimes it'll add the lesson and some other times it won't. If you edit/delete the entry you get the above error. Still nowhere near in resolving the issue.

5th December 2012, 04:18 PM #11 If you skip the booking system after adding 1 of everything, if you can, you can then go into the hapconfig.xml file and edit it directly.

5th December 2012, 04:23 PM #12 I did that but here's another error displayed at the top the web page:
Code:
A Error has occured:
Error Saving the Configuration
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at HAP.Web.Setup.Save_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)
-
-
5th December 2012, 04:24 PM #13 Ok, that error means something isn't configured. Object reference errors only come up when some configuration is missing from the core.

5th December 2012, 04:31 PM #14 I've set up the initial config with little as possible just so I can test HAP.
I managed to log in but I don't see anything other than the 'tabs' resources, management and me.
The edit annoucement in the top right hand corner is missing an image but the image it is referring to is sitting correctly in the folder (HAP/Images/Icons).

5th December 2012, 04:40 PM #15 So far I've managed to log in and everything appears to be working fine. However, when clicking 'my files' I am presented with this

Any ideas?
