    [HAP+][v8] - Install Error - Missing Resource

    Hi,

    I have done a fresh install of V8 on IIS6. Followed the instructions and did not encounters and issues during install but get the following error when trying to access HAP:

    Server Error in '/' Application.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Parser Error
    Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

    Parser Error Message: The file '/Controls/Announcement.ascx' does not exist.

    Hi @Avalon, which package did you download off codeplex? It looks like either you've forgotten to create an application pool, or you've downloaded the upgrade package instead of the full zip

    thanks Nick, yes you were absolutely right, I thought it was a bit strange there was no App_Data folder!

    I have completed the install process working through the instructions on IIS6 and I get a 'Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage'. I think it is a directory security issue, I have attached a screenshot of the site security settings, any ideas?

    The user in that screenshot should be Network Service, not the IUser.

    It's in the documentation and the web video.

    this is not a domain controller so I do not have a Network Service account

    Will it only work on a dc?

    You should have Network Service account, even on a member server. It's a native windows account

    hmmm doesn't seem to want to find it, can I set this as a different account or must it be network service?

    Where are you searching for the user? You will have to select the server, not entire directory and make sure Built in Security Principles is checked

    yes I am searching the user but do not see built in security principles just users, that must be the issue
