Upgrading from 7 to 8. Issues with mycomputer.aspx when viewing shares

    Hi,
I thought I'd bite the bullet and upgrade from 7 to 8 before going live to our users. I did as suggested in the documentation and removed all except my app_data and dropped all the new files into the HAP folder. I can log on as before and most seems OK apart from when I click on "My School Files". I get the following error...
    Code:
    Server Error in '/' Application.

    The resource cannot be found.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    Requested URL: /mycomputer.aspx
I look in my hap folder and there is no computer.aspx file there.

Did I need to run something after i dropped in the upgrade files?

    thanks

Sounds like the problem I had

    HAP V8 initial install error

I started from scratch again with V8, much easier and it works now

I'll give that a go. Fingers crossed all the IIS side will stay the same.

I just removed the lot and started again, the documentation walks you through it easily enough.

Just make sure you clear cache and or use a different browser when you setup v8 as mine was still picking up v7 stuff.

I think you probably need to change the hapconfig.xml file as the mycomputer.aspx was replaced with the MyFiles folder for v8.

Check your hapconfig.xml file for the line that contains mycomputer.aspx and replace the whole line with:

    Code:
    <Link name="My Files" showto="Inherit" description="Access your School My Files" url="~/myfiles/" icon="~/images/icons/white/net.png" target="" type="myfiles" />
    That should work!
