not impersonating user
Hi All,
Just installed HAP 8 and when anybody logins in and uses my files they dont get their correct permissions for the shares....
Everyone has read access to the Shared Documents drive even though we have said that our teaching and non teaching groups have write access, also staff do not see the staff drive.
Has anybody seen this before, or got any ideas on what is configured wrongly?
Thanks
Luke

22nd September 2012, 06:56 PM #2 Permissions are checked by attemping to create a file in the root of the current folder and each sub folder, if you disable read/write checks the system will work but will error out if they try and do anything they don't have permission to.
Check your hapconfig.xml file to make sure the mapping permissions are correct

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the quick response, i have just checked and they all seem correct.... even setting the system to not check (as long as ive set the correct line - writechecks="False") doesn't make the upload button appear

22nd September 2012, 08:32 PM #6 Try turning enable move on. It will not work if they don't have permission to write

I have enabled that and its made no difference.... could it be the user the app pool is running as?

22nd September 2012, 09:49 PM #8 How bizar, it's not the app pool id as HAP+ impersonates the user that's logged in for network access

hmmm that is odd.... same thing also happens as a domain admin.
All users can write to their home drive

24th September 2012, 06:35 PM #10 Hmm, it sounds like the impersonation isn't working.
Can you try running this Home Access Plus+ - Download Release File and check the event log

Hi Nick
I have run the program you mentioned and created the log, but nothing appears in the HAP event log.
Thanks
Luke
