    Question HAP 8.0 Issues

Great program, been using it for over a year, just moving to v8 and having a couple issues. (build 8.0.827.1800)

I started from scratch with files, complete with re-doing the setup. Having a couple problems:
    • When I'm at the Sign In screen, it refreshes every second. I have to tell the browser to stop, and 3/4 of the time I get a white page - but occasionally it will stop on the content and I can log in
    • When I log in, it lets me log in as a user, but tells me "invalid username and password"
    • When logged in and trying to get to a network drive, it tells me "The network path was not found" repeatedly, and showing no content for the drive

I can provide logs, etc. Just tell me where I need to look!

+1 with the refreshing thing. I haven't been able to get past this and get to a point where I can log in so can't comment on the other issues in the above post.

Well this is very odd, none of these errors came up in the alpha testing.

    Hi Nick,

Just to check that I've done it right....

On codeplex it said: To upgrade from a previous version, delete everything but your AppData folder, extract all but the AppData folder and run your HAP+ install

I took this to mean that after deleting and extracting everything from the zip except the AppData folder, i just navigate to the web address as normal. Or does 'run your HAP+ install' mean something else?

Can you try renaming your hapconfig.xml to hapconfig_old.xml and letting HAP recreate the config file.

How did you upgrade your install? By deleting all files except the App_Data folder and extracting the ZIP?

Can you provide me with a link to your HAP+ logon page, I'll have a look see what I can see, explaining how to diag a constant redirect isn't easy. It sounds like some resource isn't accessible, since hitting ESC can render the page.

If you are able, use Firebug in under the NET tab to see what is causing it.

Make sure you go to the setup.aspx page when you've got it working to reset the web.config settings.

Hi Nick, i'm getting the same refresh issues. I've managed to get a screenshot of an error that was coming up in firebug, I don't know if this will help or not.

    My url is https://extranet.norden.lancs.sch.uk/hap

The modernizer issue can be ignored. It's odd it's trying to interface with the live tiles interface on the logon screen, which it should not be doing

Ok, I've updated the release to v8.0828.1800.

    The files you need are:

    ~/bin/hap.web.dll
    ~/bin/hap.web.configuration.dll
    ~/scripts/hap.web.js
    ~/default.aspx
    ~/login.aspx

Nick, performed the update, and that takes care of my refresh issues.
I get logged in, and see tiles for my drives. When I click on any of them I get "The network path was not found". Checking the server event log, the message is below.

Thanks Nick, that fixed the refresh issue. Everything else seems to work fine. I have used my orginial v7.10 hapconfig.xml file which seems to have worked fine. :-)

Cool, good to hear. I think it was something to do with the URL formatting, I replaced it with a javascript variable which limits what is loaded at runtime in the client on the login and default pages
