Is it only pen drives? Do any other USB devices cause this?

turn automatic reboot off to see the blue screen, it might mention the responsible driver.
I used to get this on my machines, it was only for some users though admin seemed ok, i eventually assigned a permanent drive letter to all usb pen drives and it went away so you could try that?
I had a similar problem, and again, went into Management, and assigned the USB pen drives a permanent drive letter. Tedious process, but it stopped the conflicts with existing drives.
It seemed to be certain network cards/drivers with us, every time a network drive was mapped to F: for example, if the USB Pen also wanted F:, the machine would reboot.
You've got intel motherboards haven't you? I had this problem and had to do a new windows image in the end.
Only appears to be happening with USB pen drives as far as I can tell....Quote:

That's a good one Tosca. I've added it to the essential software list on the WiKi.
I deployed it via GPO and then copied the ini file over witha script.
Works a treat, i use it for software restrictions.......bannig exe's etc via the letter U:
