Does anyone know how to reset the lamp hours without the remote control?
Is there a set sequence on the projector I have to press and hold the buttons?

Menu button on projector I think then its the bottom option or maybe the one above and it then has choices for clearing the lamp and the filter usage.

I have a Red – Continuous light on “Lamp” Will not turn on to clear lamp hour usage
I have read the manual and it states, Press and hold the “Help” button on the remote for 10 seconds to reset the lamp hours. The only problem is…. I don’t have the remote? We seem to have lost it.
So can it be don't without the Remote control?
This used to work on older version dont know about vt58 though up, right, down, left.
I'll have a look around I think I have an old controller somewhere for the VT58.

Just to update you
I have recieved an email back from NEC and it states
"there is no other way to reset the projector. You need the remote control.
Please contact our servicepartner to get a new remote control.

I'VE FOUND IT!!!!!!! had to rip the classrooms apart - but hey ho.. they wanted it fixing.. Job Done.

No trouble we've got around 30 NEC projectors from the old 460 to the NP300?(something like that) all very good and only the vt460 has a different controller so if u do lose one dont hesitate to ask!

I know this thread has been dead for a while but I'm desperate to get my hands on a remote for the NEC vt460. In my absence a colleague has bought and installed a new bulb without realising that the remote has been missing for some time! Any help is much appreciated. I noticed you said that you had some spares you wouldn't mind parting with Wes? is that still the case?Quote:
