Has anyone else realised some of the other knock on effects of this. Both the standards picked to suceed contain some form of Digital Content Protection. Ok it is only optional, but how long until it becomes a standard feature or required to play certain content? Then you'll no longer be able to use simple splitters and the like to run additional displays as you please, the device outputting the signal will be able to dictate the number of screens the content can be output on, then you're in the grip of the manufacturers with having to purchase additional licenses to run additional screens etc. instead of simply being able to use a splitter like you can at the moment. It could get very messy, film makers encoding their discs so they can only be output on a single screen etc. etc.
just a thought.
