That is a rip-off as I think the RM Classboards are very similar to Hitachi and use the same pens (they certainly look the same). RM will also sell you a pair of the new pens which have an integrated rechargeable battery for £70. Believe it or not that's actually a bargain considering two standard pens will set you back £85.
I'd expect nothing less from RM really, they're very good at being way behind in the times. I would have thought they'd all be using shared power from the board like the ACTIVBoards and Wacom Tablets too by now though. =P
