Dell Optiplex GX620 Will Not Retain BIOS Settings
I have an issue with the BIOS in a Dell Optiplex GX620. It will not keep any of the BIOs changes I make. I want to be able to specify the Boot order, the admin password, SATA operation etc. None of these changes are remembered after reboot.

I have:
- Removed the BIOS battery and waited before re-inserting.
- Changed the BIOS battery.
- Updated the BIOS version to A11.
Is there anything that I can try that I have not already?

Check the manual to see if there's a jumper on the motherboard that you can unplug in order to reset the BIOS to factory defaults.

Not sure I have a copy of the handbook any more [A major clear out about a year ago went a bit too far...] However I think I should be able to download a PDF version.

As a first step I have looked at the motherboard and I can only see one jumper [password reset jumper]

Edit: I found the 'Restore to factory settings' in the BIOS. All values reset and then edited. All settings are retained except for BIOS password and boot sequence. The two values I am most interested in. :mad:
