Does anyone have a rackmounted Dell 2800?
We have this server through a special deal which I didnt have much input in the later stages regarding the equipment spec.
Its basically a tower converted to a rackmount. It came with the conversion plate for the front of the server but no rackmount kit.
Given the weight of the dam thing (5U) it probably needs a hefty kit and not the usual £25 I have to source.
I thnk I need some versa rails P no 770-1058 and the rapid rails P no 770-10568.
The tower to rack conversion kit P no 770-10552 seems to be fitted already.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Dell are being less than helpful as they tried to sell me the plate conversion kit again.
Cheers
Chris
Re: Does anyone have a rackmounted Dell 2800?
I can't help you with the part numbers - have you tried the Dell forums? www.racksolutions.co.uk stock Dell rails / tower conversion kits - my dell rep put me onto them when I wanted to convert a 2600 tower to rackmount.

Thanks I will give them a call later they should be more clued up :D
Re: Does anyone have a rackmounted Dell 2800?
I know this is HP but normally when you get a Tower to Rack converter kit it has the rails included in the kit
Re: Does anyone have a rackmounted Dell 2800?
I think Im going to go with a third party static shelf solution as the full dell solution is going to cost about £180 or something stupid as opposed to £65.
