Anyone know why the power leads provided with the PSU's for this dont want to fit? Them seem to have a round pin at the bottom of the PSU slot, or am i missing something obvious? If i am i'll go sit in the corner with a dunce hat on.

No sorry in haste didn't explain myself fully.
I have got 2x J8712A to install into our new 5406zl chassis, they have the normal 3-pin kettle style connectors but have a round pin shape at the bottom meaning normal kettle style wont fit. But in the boxes them came with normal 3-pin leads which dont fit?
Not sure you can fully see it but look at the bottom of the power socket.

oops that'll teach me for not scroller slow enough, sorry, i'll pester my supply and get the right ones sent to me. Thanks plexer
around £25 each when I got the HP part number. Finding any is difficult!
Quick search found them for £10.86 each but i want my suppler to get them as they sent the wrong ones in the first place lol.
Good day, the 5400zl chassis can take two types of power supply ie. 875watt (J8712A) or the 1500watt (J8713A). The power cords for both the power supplies differ. The reason been that normal PC power cords do not always have the corect thinkness (wire spec) to support the amount a watts and the power cord itself could end up overheating or melting. This is reason why there is a special key at the bottom of the power cord to prevent incorrect power cords been plugged in. The power cord that should ship with the power supply should be the correct one. However if not then you can phone the ProCurve support centre on 800996233 and they will replace it for you.
Hi RiaanF thanks for sharing that nugget of info with us.

Excellent glad to have someone on board in that sort of capacity.
I think edugeek should build more partnerships with access to experts from the various manfacturers.
Now I just need someone in HP Laptop support :)
