I'm looking to buy some MP3 recorders. They're going to be used by ESOL teachers and will be used for recording speech and probably playing back as well.
I've looked at various Panasonic devices but they don't record to MP3 and I think it would be much easier if we had a common format for the recording files.
Suggestions for a cheapish, battery powered device with a reasonable amount of internal memory.

Not tried one yet, but they seem to fit the bill at a reasonable price.
Just to add to this topic - these don't record in .mp3 but .wma. If anybody is looking at these don't bother they are not user friendly to use at all.
We only bought two as we thought students could act as roving reporters across the school. We then purchased a minidisc recorder which is much better and does the job we wanted to achieve we then rip into .mp3 using Audacity.
The Easi-Speak microphone / recorder strikes me as fitting all the above criteria perfectly. Records for two hours to MP3 or WAV, battery powered, £100 for a 5-pack including 5-port charger:Quote:
