Reeealy skinny fat client pc

I just had a look at the new VIA line of motherboards and found something interesting.

VIA ARTiGO Pico-ITX Builder Kit A1000 - VIA Technologies, Inc.

It is a whole x86 system that fits in a case small enough to be mounted in a 5.25" drive bay. It works will full blown Windows XP, 1GB RAM, 1Ghz CPU and supports up to 1600x1200 on a VGA or DVI output.

I'd imagine that it uses stuff all power as well but I was not able to find any numbers on its power consumption.

Our Mini-ITX (larger) use 18W -even with blade chassis to run them all its a lot less than fat client.

According to mini-itx.com - news it uses 15W idle or 20W under full load.

They are £210 including VAT, and i want one! ;)

Looks remarkably similar to the Viglen MPC-L we were looking at yesterday:

Viglen - Product Range - XUBUMBCL

No Windows, Xubuntu instead, running costs "£1 a year", costs £99.
