This is much, much better than the crappy 7 inches.
Only problem that the case is bigger and the price is estimated to be €399 (approx. £305) :(
Now were talking a bit more usable for us with fat finger itus :D

I think the key thing isn't so much the screen size but they fact the resolution is now up to a much more usable 1024x600. Definitely interested depending on what price it comes out here at though admittedly £300 is starting to get worryingly close to the price of a regular windows laptop. Mind you that looks like it's for the 12gb flash version so there might be a cheaper version out (with a smaller drive) in future.

Good idea in theory, but like most recent technology completely pointless in practice. And there was me getting all excited that they had brought out a machine with a useable screen :(
XP is hardly bloated though is it.
And a bit of tweaking here and there has XP running extremely lightweight.
less vat for education and you've still got a very cheap machine. Plus the increased 12GB storage....except that extra storage is one step forward two steps back if xp is the only preinstalled option.Quote:

You're comparing apples and oranges.....how much does the dell you're referring to weigh ? anything over 1.5kg and it's a completely different category of machine. Tell me what you can get at less than £300 for a machine with the weight and form factor of the eee ? And the tell me if that machine uses solid state storage and has an LED screen.Quote:
