Time to get rid of the 7" then :P
wow looks great :D
This is much, much better than the crappy 7 inches.
Only problem that the case is bigger and the price is estimated to be €399 (approx. £305) :(
Now were talking a bit more usable for us with fat finger itus :D
If they keep getting bigger they won't be a novelty anymore. Although 9 inch is a better size, but i don't think they could go any bigger.
I think the key thing isn't so much the screen size but they fact the resolution is now up to a much more usable 1024x600. Definitely interested depending on what price it comes out here at though admittedly £300 is starting to get worryingly close to the price of a regular windows laptop. Mind you that looks like it's for the 12gb flash version so there might be a cheaper version out (with a smaller drive) in future.
A workmate has just bought a flying machine of a dell for less than £400 and than included the Vista licence. Why oh why would you want to spend nearly that (or more than that if you include the price of the licence) on an Eee????
Good idea in theory, but like most recent technology completely pointless in practice. And there was me getting all excited that they had brought out a machine with a useable screen :(
XP is hardly bloated though is it.
And a bit of tweaking here and there has XP running extremely lightweight.
I don't mind the slightly extra girth - it is marginally bigger so it goes from tiny to really small....and the increased size of the toucpad and touchpad buttons is a smart move also.
i suppose you could install a linux or xp lite OS to give you a good 7 or 8gig useable after OS, OOo and a few other small apps.
