Interesting tool, broc, but no use to me here - as the drivers are presumably being held on the server (as proved by how a local connection works fine), I cannot remove them as the printers are still in operation in other locations, just not in the Staff Room any more.
Is there an alternative printer driver you can use. For example, some HP printers can use a 'full feature' driver or a 'basic driver for business'. I've found the full feature driver doesn't like doing things over a network in some cases.
