Disposing of old PC cases only - skippable?

Just wondering - I know the WEEE etc regarding disposing of whole PCs/monitors/printers etc, but I'm seriously running out of room at the moment... If I strip the mobo/PSU out of cases, effectively leaving them as bare metal, does anyone know if it's OK to just skip the empty shells?

If it's bare metal it should be fine. You might find that a scrap metal merchant might actualy pay a small amount of money for them, or your local tip might accept them. Might be worth asking your D&T department what they do with their off cuts.
