Dell SC1435 keyboard issue

Got a bit of an odd problem.
My new Dell SC1435 (AMD 2Ghz Dual Core, 2Gb, twin sata 500Gb) is a PITA.
Runs SmoothWall Corporate Guardian just fine. That's a 2.4 linux kernel.
Runs Dell Diagnostics just fine.
Dell's quickstart CD and Windows 2003 Server-32bit both fail oddly - the OS seems stable underneath (windows screensaver happily whirring away) but after a few moments the keyboard no longer works. Caps lock no longer goes on or off, mouse fails as well.

This is after roughly 3-4 minutes. Windows installer does not seem to suffer, but once it's on... pop.

Any ideas? Am currently running dell's "long" diagnostic, before I dare call their tech support - so you have TIIIIME :)

Bad ram?

doubt it.
Ran memtest for a bit, and had Corp. Guardian running for >1 week ok.

Will probably run memtest some more once dell diags are done.

Its Dell do I need to say more :D Sorry just had to say that, never had much fun with Dell stuff.

As for the problem could be mobo thats glitch, or even the actual keyboard.

Not tried a new k/b yet.... might be worthwhile. Odd that it only occurs in some OSs tho...
