Anyone any ideas where I can get some security screws and screw heads (interchangeable hex socket ones). I'm looking to secure some of the more accessible machines from casual screwdriver wielding children/adults.

rapid electronics, or rscomponent.com
Next dumb question...
What the heck are the standard metric sizes for computer screws (cd-rom/floppy & standard case/HD types)?
I honestly have no idea.
i'm not sure they are a standard metric screw size. i they're in between M2 and M3
M3 6-32 / 6mm with Philips/Hex head for the case.
M3 6-32 / 4mm with Philips head for drive mounting.
M2 6-32 / 4mm with Philps head for laptop/slimline drive mounting.
Excellent, thanks Geoff.. :)Quote:

My security bits only cost a couple of quid from Rapid Electronics.
Slightly O/T, but another simple security measure I came across was on a IWB projector mount. The bolt was a strange size, not coverred by most spanner sets, this means that if someone brought some spanners in to pinch it, they probably wouldn't fit.
If I was going on the pinch, I'd take a couple of adjustable spanners - less to carry.Quote:

I got my stuff from Mills Ltd they have a wide range of them. But i've hit a glitch getting a star driver big enough for some projector kit mounted by some bodgit and run lot, but I think i've found one on eBay tonight.Quote:

That thought had occured to me but the average "punk" doesn't usually come kitted out with every eventuality in mind. And besides if we took the "why bother" attitude we'd not lock doors, etc...Quote:
