I want to spec a Dell up but the Educational bit of the site has been down since Thursday.

The pirces on their Educational website are not the lowest you can get. Phone a sales person direct for the best price.

For example a Latitude D820 which would cost £850.00 according to their Educational site cost £500.00 after speaking to a sales person direct.

    Go figure.

    Re: This Years New PC

Hi Mark hear are some quotes, I know some of them have gone down or been upgraded
HP dc7700 Ultra Slim PC £414
    Asus Pundit - Core 2 Duo E4300 £410
    Shuttle SD32G2 £450
All in 1 SCL AIO £530
    Dell OptiPlex 745 USFF £449

The Pundits are good but our kids rip the front of the case off.
We was looking at the all in one but can't get them for next week.
I am looking into the DELL OptiPlex 745 USFF as wee all know about DELL.

We have just bought a load of the OptiPlex 745 USFF's ourselves and they are very good. Compact and very quiet. Bloody heavy though

Maybe I'll just stick to HP then, I hate having to fight for prices. I know it's the way of the world but I'd rather pay slightly more (as it's not my money) and go on a website and click a few buttons, than go on a website to look at things then have to ring someone and tell them what I've just looked at to get the actual price.

Especially when it ends up that you ring, their not there, you go out the office when they ring back, you ring them back on your return and find they're talking to someone else. Email, it's the way forward!

I can't recommended them as I'm just getting some quotes at the moment, and have not used them before, but I'm sure someone on here has...

    Re: This Years New PC

Ok mate, thats cool. Just seems a lot extra to pay for the NEC brand. We offer the same system, with Windows XP Pro for £240.00 with the slim-line desktop. Its a 3 year, not 4 year warranty but still - an extra £80 for the NEC name and an extra years warranty seems a lot in my opinion

Just thought you'd like to know so you can get the best deal out of your current supplier
