I'm trying to get hold of a 1VGA-to-2VGA splitter cable, so we can have a monitor and a projector on our IWBs. We've bought some in the past, but our supplier no longer stocks them - I've found one at Videk but £14 seems a bit steep considering I think I only paid a few quid last time.
Does anyone know where else I can get these from?

I make a point of no longer using them as I find that they introduce a faint double image into the picture. Used to use powered VGA splitters, but I find dual output graphics cards are cheaper these days!
PM me with an address, I have a spare one you can have.

Yes, we've noticed that ghost image before too, but only on the monitor not the projector for some reason. I didn't think of dual output cards, though - thanks!

try aquarius computer supplies, i found them on amazon, 2 splitters for £6.
Just for a giggle, try disconnecting the projector and leaving the monitor plugged in!, took me 5 minutes of twiddling to figure that one out last time our ict staff had a rewire.

Only thing I would mention about the graphics cards if you decide to go down that route, is to make sure that any DVI output is dual standard and will support a VGA output (DVI-I). This is important as many monitors (especially 15" jobbies which match the resolution of most projectors) only have the VGA input.

£12.95 for a spliiter/amplifier v £14 for a splitter cable that leaves a ghost image.
We had exactly the same problem and now we use only powered spliiters from Ash Distribution

I recently used the 2 ouputs on the back of a video card in our shuttle machines for this.
Wasn't sure if it would work as sone was analogue and the other dvi, the neovo monitors had dvi in so I hooked that one up and then the projector to the analogue.
Works like a champ.

Re: VGA Splitter Cable
Insight and Equanet (inmac) do them, you do get a bit of ghosting on screen though but our staff don't seem to mind. I'm out of the office just now or I'd look up my past orders and send you the part numbers.
If you haven't found them by tomorrow I'll post them on here!

We use Daxton Monitor splitters on all ours (40 of them) and so far no problems.
(You just know that sentence is going to be the kiss of death - don't you? )

13 for the powered one is about as cheap as I've seen, they used to go for 30 when I last looked. On the other hand you can get a PCI-E dual output graphics jobbie with passive heatsink for 18 quid which will work in standard slots or low profile with adaptors, and you don't need to find an additional power socket on your wall or an extra VGA lead to the splitter.

AGP jobbies are a bit more.

We've used Reveal Cables before, and so far they are reliable and quick. If I've found the right thing (and these aren't powered), the price range is £4.18 to about £8. The link is below (the VGA splitters are near the bottom of the page):

if you are using a LCD monitor, and a projector out of an unpowered repeater, you might have some problems if you just rely on the lead to send the signal
i'd get a powered splitter personally

They take up desk space, though, which is limited in some of our installation locations. Plus, by the time you've plugged in the PC, monitor, printer, Bluetooth desktop set and video/DVD player, there's not always a socket free for the splitter box.
