    Powerchute can't see UPS

Just installed PC on the server, connected by USB.

I get events in the event viewer from the UPS but PC does not register the UPS anywhere in its software.

    Its a Smart UPS 750i

Every now and again one of our servers stops talking to the APC UPS its plugged into and I have to pull the usb cable out and plug it back it so they talk to each other again. The Servers that are connected with a good old fashioned serial cable actually cause less problems luckily it doesnt happen very often.

It's been a while since I checked for updates but the cds they supply with the software on are usually out of date and you will probably find a newer version you can download from APC's website.

    Hi

Be careful a lot of ups are not compatable with windows 2008. Check your is compatable. I had to change my ups round to make them all work with the servers putting apc smart ups 1500 on he windows 2008 machines.
