EDIT: I also have an Acer Netbook and Tosh Sat Pro with a smashed screen that I'm using for testing W7 stuff.

My newly purchased work from home PC core i7 870, 16GB ddr3, 2x 2TB SATA Drives with Win 7 Ultimate. Got a nice coolermaster case to bung that lot in as well.

I don't need much power for what I do from this workstation, so I've been pretty happy with my:

    AMD Athlon 4850e
    4GB DDR2 800
    500GB HDD
    Foxconn 780G board

for the last couple of years. Running Windows 7 Pro x64.

    At the moment I run:

    Core I3 530 @ 2.93GHz
    3GB DDR3 Ram
    500GB Hard Drive

And to be honest with you its far too slow for what I use it for. Considering building myself a new Core i5 or 7 machine for work.

The main things I use my machine for.

    Several VMware machines
    Video editing and encoding
    Photoshop
    General office and internet
    Itunes
    and remote desktop.

Usually all at the same time. Which is why I really need to upgrade to an I7 like everyone else.
