Support wise, they're both good. However if you go with HP then because everybody and their dog handles HP, you'll have support from the reseller as well as HP whereas with Dell, even if you go through a reseller, it still has to go through Dell.
I deal with them both but if I had to pick one, it'd be HP because the discounts are better so you'll get more bang for your buck
What about Dothill in essence what HP kit is I think and can sometimes be cheaper.
If you can buy and get the unit shipped before the end of this month then Dell by a long shot. Dells end of financial year is the end of this month, and you can get huuuuuuuge discounts (not unusual to find them selling at cost in the last week for a big enough deal) if you deal with Dell direct. Get yourself a good Dell internal/external account management team and I've also found that HP just can't compete, and that's with special edu bid pricing with HP knowing the sort of price Dell were offering.

We too are looking and have been advised to ask servernation.co.uk

I would never go with HP again. I have had really bad service here in Australia and the UK. So if it was between the 2 i would pick Dell.
For something like that, I'd go with Dell as their telephone Pro Support is far better than HP's.
Are you only considering Dell or HP? We just got a NetApp FAS2040 which is the dogs dangly bits.....
Thanks for the replies folks. The general concensus im getting is Dell, not just from here but from many other sources.
Dell have contacted me a few mins ago and revised there price down by 3K with 30mins left on the tender timeout - unbelievable!
Thanks again all got some decisions to make this evening and tomorrow morning.
