We have one HP 4015 Mono printer which is not printing the images properly. There are two vertical lines on the page that are almost like that part of the print has been moved down or displaced. As first I thought it was just lines but then I noticed the relevant text was still printed but it was a lot lower down than the line it should have been on. I have:
Replaced the toner
Checked the fuser for any damage and as far as I can see there is none. Unfortunately we don't have another one to swap around with.
Ran all the cleaning page jobs etc.
The results are the same if you send the job from a computer or get a page to print from the printer control panel.
Sometimes it doesn't have this problem but I am starting to suspect that this is on documents that don't have anything to print in those areas.
Any ideas? All sensible suggestions will be rewarded with thank you.

11th January 2012, 02:34 PM #2 have you tried printing the offending documents to somewhere else to see if it is the document?
Have you tried reverting drivers to PS or PCL depending on what you are using at the moment? we've had a problem similar to this on a samsung and that turned out to be a driver issue, using the PS driver fixed it.
have you tried printing an artificial document with no whitespace left on it, ie a page completely filled with random characters, to see if segments on the page displace while others don't?

11th January 2012, 02:38 PM #3 I discounted the driver as it does the same when you print a settings page or something straight from the printer control panel. I will try a document full of letters to see if it's always the same.

11th January 2012, 02:57 PM #4 ok, my mistake, i read what you'd said as it not making a difference whether you printed a document or a test page, and i assumed you meant the *windows* test page!
give the whole page of characters a go and see what happens.
