drive problems after rebuild
Computer runninh XP pro, we had cause to reload and now we don't have access to CD, FDD or USB.
Motherboard was old so upgraded, formatted the HDD, replaced FDD, loaded XP same problem. Delete drives from device manager reboot..same problem. Any thoughts?
Cheers

Did you upgrade the BIOS on the mothership (sorry board)? If not this is worth a shot.

Hmm I'm a little confused as we have replaced the motherboard but are having the same problem regardless of which board is installed.

You get lots of weird and wonderful problems with a dodgy PSU - do you have a voltage reader you can attach to one of the IDE power connectors off the PSU - if so - whats the reading ? 11.5v you may get away with - [ of course this though my own experience ] the closer to 12 the better.
Is the board running an Intel or AMD chip ?

Are you loading windows from the network or from a cd, when you say you dont have access to the drives are they all visable in windows?

Re: drive problems after rebuild
try disconnecting them all, and then connect one at a time, windows should pick them up
